Vision Boards, What Are They? How Do They Work?

Vision boards have become very popular as personal development tools. These are similar to mind maps except you use pictures that you choose and enjoy. They’ve increased in popularity because of the law of attraction and go a bit deeper than visualization. Some people have trouble visualizing so they put together a vision board to “see” what they want to attract.
Books like Think and Grow Rich and As a Man Thinketh sparked people to start using a collage type of board to help them work on their goals and accomplishments. Vision boards have a very good success rate for people who actually use them to their fullest extent.
In a way, it’s a lot like being in grade school. Do you remember making collages of pictures? The teacher would supply you with a stack of magazines and have you cut out and paste those pictures onto a poster board. Vision boards work in the same way, except you don’t tuck them away in a closet when you’re done. They help you to dream again like you did as a child.
You can create several different vision boards, each with its own theme. You may want one for health with pictures of people who are fit, running a marathon, workout stations, healthy foods; whatever appeals to you and reminds you of health.
You can do one for personal or business success with pictures of successful people, or activities that you will do once you reach the level of success you desire.
You can also create one for things you want. These items could be a new house, an updated kitchen, shiny kitchen appliances, cars, vacations. The list is truly endless as to what you can add to a vision board.
Vision boards work great in any area of your life that you want to improve. People are very visual creatures. We learn and recieve most of our stimulation through our eyes. Using vision boards can help you stimulate the areas of your life that you want to work on. Simply create a board using pictures from magazines or images you find online that you can print. You can make it as pretty and fancy as you want. The creative work involved is also very stimulating.
Whatever area of life you’re working on, don’t forget to dream and take action. The process of creating a vision board is an active step towards your desires. Putting it in a prominent place so that you see it daily is another active step in achieving your goals. Have fun and give these great tools a try.
